Our Programs
Baal Vikas is involved with the following activities:Educational: The organization helps poor students and schools in following fields:
Provide scholarship to qualified students, who are selected based on their academic performance and parent's income. Students are required to submit an application form, along with mark-sheets/grades.
Organization provides books to students for academic year, which must be returned back to school after final exams, in order to get books for next academic year.
Charitable: Organization identifies and helps distressed, underprivileged or poor children who need help with basic needs such as food, winter clothing and some medical problems from time to time. Organization does not intend to provide any long term commitment. Beneficiaries are identified mostly by recommendations, volunteers or an application process.
Community Service: Organization may be involved with certain acivities which are helpful to children such as organizing a health camps for free medical/dental checkup, installing hand-pumps for clean drinking water etc.
Baal Vikas is actively engaged in the following specific programs:
1. REaD Foundation Education Assistance Program
Century Park Apartments, Bangalore
Under this program, we partner with REaD foundation in Bangalore to provide scholarships to the children of domestic workers.
2. Sohagara Scholarship Program
Govt. primary school, Sohagara Bazar, Siwan, Bihar
Under this program, we select 3 students from each of 8 classes - a total of 24 students per year. A team from our partner organization, Bihar Brains, Patna visits this school every year to select the students for scholarship.
3. Bakulari Scholarship Program
Govt. middle school, Bakulari, Siwan, Bihar
Under this program, we select 3 girl students from each of 8 classes - a total of 24 students per year. A team from our partner organization, Bihar Brains, Patna visits this school every year to select the students for scholarship. Funding for this scholarship is provided by a direct donor of Bihar Brains.4. Rampyari Kashiprasad Kanya Inter College

Baal Vikas has made major contributions in the construction of this school building in the past. Most recently, Baal Vikas has signed a MOU with REaD India foundation to provide joint scholarship to the girl students of this school.

Baal Vikas on Dsplay
Baal Vikas Foundation was showcased at the Heritage of India Festival in Valhalla, New York on August 15th, 2011. The festival is organized by Indian American Cultural Association of Westchester and attracts several thousand visitors from the tri-state area. BVF showcased its services and received very warm reception from many visitors.
